Join the ERA

Founded in 1934, the Electric Railroaders’ Association, Inc. (ERA) is a non-profit educational organization consisting of people from all walks of life interested in the history and progress of electric railways.

Benefits of Joining

As a member in good standing you’ll receive the ERA’s bi-yearly magazine, Headlights. You are invited to attend the ERA’s national convention, held yearly in a North American city with electric rail operations. If you are conducting research you may take advantage of the ERA’s extensive collection of electric railway literature and images at its Frank Julian Sprague Memorial Library.

How to Join

All dues and other charges can be paid with one check, payable to ERA and mailed to P.O. Box 3323, New York, NY 10163-3323 (see application for more details). US dues for 2007 are $25, unchanged from 2006. The ERA Membership Application may be downloaded below. Alternatively, US residents may use our Online Membership Application.

2007 Dues

The ERA and the New York Division are cooperating again to make renewal easier by offering members a Joint Renewal Notice and Remittance Coupon for 2007 dues. ERA members and others may also use the coupon to pay 2007 dues to the Light Rail Transit Association and to subscribe to LRTA publications.
